Why Iyengar Medical Yoga at KARE?

After practicing Iyengar Yoga over the past twenty years, Dr. Kalmadi persuade the fact that the attitude of people turning towards alternative medicine and treatments must be very well supported not just by simple yoga Asanas, but also by the medical Yoga of world's foremost authority - B.K.S. Iyengar. It is scientifically experimented and designed by master Iyengar for each unfulfilled area of tissues and nerves of the brain or lungs. During his sixty years of teaching Yoga, Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar has experimented with various equipments in order to customize Asanas to the individual needs; consequently revolutionizing the art of Yoga. The Iyengar Yoga practiced at KARE goes hand-in-hand with all the treatments, therapies and personalized diet, with a sense of measure and proportion. With an experienced teacher like Dr. Kalmadi himself and Mr. Ratanlal Shah, each of our KARE guests learns to become Yoga participate. In the practice you learn to unlock and liberate your own body's capacities and to be in harmony and resonance.

The Schedule of Medical Yoga is designed scientifically, so that the therapy and treatments are well supported. At KARE we welcome the morning with herbal tea and herbal medicines followed by two hours of medical yoga, followed by one and a half hours of Asanas in the afternoon, to relax into meditation and to elevate the energy that is generated in the morning sessions.

The morning Medical Yoga practiced at KARE is emphasized on the back ("the spiritual body of human being") that we never tend to exercise or strengthen, even in general fitness programs. Iyengar Yoga Asanas works directly on our back, hence the external medicines and internal treatments of Yoga, comes full circle to attain complete health.

At KARE we have divided Yoga as:

  • Morning - dynamic meditation
  • Evening - passive meditation

Here at KARE we fit Iyengar medical Yoga programme according to your therapeutic/ personal needs and experience; with a full attention, supervision and follow up schedule. Even if you are inexperienced in Yoga, it should not be a barrier for you. Here at KARE we support any level starting from, beginners to advance.

According to Dr. Kalmadi anybody who practices Iyengar medical Yoga for one to one and half hours a day will never be admitted in an I.C.U or have to undergo a Joint Replacement, Coronary Bypass Surgery and will never suffer from a stroke.
